Art. 1 - OBJECT
Recognizing the importance of international students as a fundamental instrument for the internationalization of the Country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation - Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, the Ministry of University and Research, ITA – Italian Trade Agency, and Uni-Italia, within the framework of the “ Invest Your Talent in Italy” Program, will award a number of scholarships, for the academic year 2024-2025, in favor of international students interested in attending higher education courses in Italy.
Scholarships are awarded for courses of Master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale or Master universitario) at Italian Higher Education Institutes (state-owned institutions or institutions legally recognized by the relevant State authorities) that are part of the “Invest Your Talent in Italy” Program. The program also includes a mandatory internship at Italian companies. The grants that will be awarded derive from an express will of the Italian government manifested through this call and, when applicable, from international understandings/agreements.

The Program, which aims to promote the internationalization of the Italian academic system as a center of excellence and to stimulate synergies between universities and businesses, allows young foreign talents to get their specialization in Italy and to start a working experience at Italian companies.
The IYT Program is now dedicated to the memory of Giulia Cecchettin.
All the IYT grantees from the academic year 2023-2024 on, will attend a seminar or a course on the enhancing of gender equality and on fighting violence and abuse against women, as part of their academic path at the University of their choice.
Art. 2 - COUNTRIES ELIGIBLE FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be citizens, effectively living, in one of the following countries:
- Armenia
- Azerbaijan
- Brasile
- Colombia
- Egypt
- Ethiopia
- Ghana
- India
- Indonesia
- Iran
- Kazakhstan
- Mexico
- People’s Republic of China
- Republic of Korea
- Tunisia
- Türkiye
- Vietnam
Art. 3 - ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applications may be submitted only by those who meet the following requirements at the time of the deadline of the Call.

3.1 Academic qualifications
Applications may only be submitted by those candidates referred to in Articles 1 and 2 who hold the academic qualifications (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) required to enroll in the chosen Master’s Degree Program (Laurea Magistrale or Master Universitario). Candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s Degree.
Students who are currently studying at an Italian university and those who have obtained an Italian University Degree are not eligible for the IYT Program. -
3.2 Application
Before submitting the IYT application, the candidate must have submitted his/her pre-application on the University of his/her choice website for the postgraduate course/courses (Laurea Magistrale or Master) he/she intends to apply for within the IYT Call. Each University has its own enrollment procedures, that have to be checked and followed before applying for the IYT Program.
Candidates can apply for ONE course only. The second choice is only possible for those courses accepting a limited number of students. In this case, the second choice is automatically displayed when completing the application.
Students are entitled to receive the IYT scholarship only if they are admitted to the course they have applied for through the IYT platform. -
3.3 Age requirements
Applicants must have been born on or after January 1st, 1998. Students applying for a scholarship renewal are excepted from this provision

3.4 Language skills
Candidates must submit an English language certificate as proof of their proficiency in English.
Candidates must hold at least a B2 level certificate within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Candidates who have obtained an English-taught Bachelor’s Degree can submit a certificate issued by their university, stating that English is the language of the courses in that university/course/faculty. This certificate can be accepted as proof of proficiency in English.
Proof of proficiency in Italian is not mandatory, but will be taken into due consideration in the selection process.
Art. 4 - START AND DURATION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship will cover a period of study of 9 (nine) months starting from October 1st, 2024.
Art. 5 - SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

5.1
Candidates must complete and submit the on-line application form available at the following link:
The full surname and all the given names must be included in the personal information section of the on-line application form (as stated in the candidate’s passport).

5.2
Applications must be submitted from January 30th, 2024 to March 1st, 2024 until 12:00 (Midday, Italian Time).

5.3
5.3 Candidates must provide the following documents:
- final transcript of all previous exams as well as the final grade (Bachelor’s Degree);
- students who have completed their Bachelor’s studies but have not yet received their Diploma - - must submit, along with the final transcript of all previous exams, a document on letterhead paper from their University certifying that they have completed their Bachelor’s program and are waiting for the Diploma to be issued. This document must be issued through and signed by a representative of the Academic Registrar’s Office;
- English language certificate (for example IELTS or TOEFL);
- Italian language certificate, when applicable;
- video in which the candidate should explain their motivations (no longer than 1 minute);
- CV/resume;
- Valid Passport.
An official translation into English, French or Spanish is required if the documents are in a language other than them. Both the translated documents and the original copies must be provided.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted. It is not possible to send the supporting documents by email.

Multiple applications – done by using different email addresses - are not allowed (see art. 3.2) and will be rejected.
Art. 6 - RENEWALS

6.1
Grantees of the academic year 2023-2024 (Grantees of the VIII ed. of the Program who are at the 1st year of their Master’s Degree Program in the a.y. 23-24) may apply to continue their course by uploading to the IYT Portal the following documents by July 20th, 2024:
- University transcript of the exams (Certificato Universitario degli Esami sostenuti with the so-called CFUs);
- Attendance certificate of the Italian language course offered by the host University;
- “Internship Declaration”.
The Grantees will be awarded with a scholarship renewal and exempted from the payment of enrollment and tuition fees for their second academic year only if the following requirements are met:
- Completion of a minimum of 30 credits (the Italian CFUs) by July 20th, 2024;
- Providing proof of regular attendance of the Italian language classes;
- Providing the Italian company’s “Internship Declaration”.

6.2
Grantees of the academic year 2024-2025 (Grantees of the IX ed. of the Program who are at the 1st year of their Master’s Degree Program in the a.y. 24-25) may apply to continue their course by uploading to the IYT Portal the following documents by July 20th, 2025:
- University transcript of the exams (Certificato Universitario degli Esami sostenuti with the so-called CFUs);
- Attendance certificate of the Italian language course offered by the host University.
The Grantees will be awarded with a scholarship renewal and exempted from the payment of enrollment and tuition fees for their second academic year only if the following requirements are met:
- Completion of a minimum of 30 credits (the Italian CFUs) by July 20th, 2025;
- Providing proof of regular attendance of the Italian language classes.
Starting from the IX edition of the Program (hence in the academic year 2024-2025) the internship will not be a condition for the scholarship renewal, but it remains mandatory and must be completed before the end of the 2nd year of the Master’s Degree Program.
Art. 7 - SELECTION PROCEDURES AND ASSIGNMENT OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS

7.1 Selection procedures
Applications will be examined and evaluated by a Technical Committee composed by representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of University and Research, the Italian Trade Agency and Uni-Italia.

7.2 Awarding procedures
Scholarships, attributed in defined quotas for each Country, will be awarded based on a comparative assessment in compliance with the requirements of Articles 3 and 5 of this Call.
Art. 8 - RANKING
The IYT Technical Committee will inform the selected candidates via email at the email address used for the registration on the My-App IYT platform in the summer of 2024.
Art. 9 - TUITION FEES
Candidates who are granted a scholarship under the “Invest Your Talent in Italy” Program are exempted from the payment of tuition fees except for the Regional Tax for “Diritto allo Studio”, stamp duty, any expense regarding accident insurance and/or civil liability, as well as the health insurance policy. The scholarship does not cover travel expenses and does not include accommodation.
Art. 10 - HEALTH AND MEDICAL INSURANCE
Grantees must subscribe a health insurance policy to cover any expenses due to illnesses or accident
Art. 11 - PAYMENT OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
Grantees will receive a 1.000,00 Euros (one thousand) monthly allowance on a quarterly basis, which will be paid on their Italian bank account.
Upon their arrival in Italy, students will be given detailed information about the payment procedures of the scholarship.
Disbursement procedure will begin within each quarter. Therefore, individual payments will commence within that period and processed asap.
The first installment of the scholarship can only be received after the completion of the University enrollment and the submission of all the documents requested according to the necessary administrative procedures.
The scholarship only covers University courses attended in Italy. It is not possible for a scholarship-holder to participate in any international mobility program promoted by the host University, nor can he/she apply for an internship abroad. He/she cannot choose to do his/her thesis research abroad.
Art. 12 - INCOMPATIBILITY
The “Invest Your Talent in Italy” scholarship is incompatible with any other scholarship and/or any other economic facility offered by the Italian Government or any other Italian public institution, including the grants provided by Italian Regions “per il diritto allo studio regionale (Right to education provided by Regional Authorities)”.
